Media Training + Pitch Clinics

Our media training and pitch clinics give you the all the tools you need to help get your message heard.

We all know one of the best ways to grow your business, share your message, build community, sell more books, get more gigs, expand your reach, raise awareness to a cause, or establish yourself as a credible voice… is through visibility. Whether you’re aiming at widening your online presence, launching a media tour for a book or film, or simply establishing your subject-matter expertise for the long-term, it’s super important to understand the media ecosystem and how to kick ass once you’re in it.

The guests we see again and again on tv and radio programs (and, let’s be real, a lot of the same people appear over and over, so there is space for other voices) are there because they had something to say, they understood how to find and establish contacts, nurture relationships with hosts, producers, reporters and editors, and had the skills to be a credible and effective guest on the air and after.

But look, it’s not just about visibility for visibility’s sake, but about what impact it can have on your business and your life. Media appearances can (and often do) lead to everything from more clients, sold-out performances, regular contributor spots, columns, more talk show appearances, funding, successful election campaigns, book deals, the opportunity to testify before congress and impact policy, and more. But, without visibility? Nope.

In addition to film and videography work, Strangewaze also offer media training and in-depth pitch clinic curriculum led by Executive Director Amy Guth, a Chicago-based author, journalist, filmmaker, and radio host at WGN-720, with over twenty years experience in newsrooms, broadcast stations and media leadership roles. She is President of Association for Women Journalists Chicago, a Senior Facilitator at The Op-Ed Project, and her work has appeared in Chicago Tribune, Huffington Post, Los Angeles Times, WGN-TV, WCIU-TV, WBEZ-AM, Baltimore Sun, Orlando Sentinel, and Hartford Courant. She’s helped professionals, artists, authors, speakers, policymakers, activists, and academics in the U.S. and abroad establish their credibility in media outlets and make appearances on national and local broadcast stations to share their message and knowledge.

In our packages below, you’ll get quality, one-on-one, totally-non-overwhelming and supportive training at an affordable price point. Best of all, it can all be accomplished quickly over Skype/Facetime, and have you on your way to greater visibility right away.
